Staff Analysis of the Legislation
SR 1083 creates the Senate Criminal Justice Reform Study Committee. The committee shall consist of five members to be appointed by the President of the Senate, who shall also name a chairperson. The committee shall undertake a study of the conditions, needs, issues, and problems of criminal justice reform in the state. In the event that the committee adopts any specific findings, the chairperson shall file a report. The committee shall stand abolished on December 1, 2016.
